Art House Theater Day at the Michigan

Art House Theater Day (AHTD) is an annual program of AHC that brings audiences together to celebrate all that art house theaters – and independent film – contribute to our cultural landscape: ambitious and innovative art that provokes, challenges, entertains, and inspires. 2025 marks the sixth Art House Theater Day, which launched in 2016 in more than 150 cinemas across the country.

AJ Goes to the Dog Park: Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 PM
When AJ’s favorite dog park in Fargo, North Dakota is taken away, it begins a chain reaction that upends his life and sends him on an unforgettable odyssey to fight, fish, scrap, scrape and sap things back into place in this surreal comedy.

Tangerine: Friday, July 25 at 7:00 PM
It’s Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee (newcomer Kitana Kiki Rodriguez) is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend (James RansoneSTARLET, “Generation Kill”) hasn’t been faithful during the 28 days she was locked up, the sex worker and her best friend, Alexandra (newcomer Mya Taylor), embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumor. Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles.
