Our earliest records of the CJS Film Series start in 1975, but locals tell us the center has been showing films as early as the 1960s.     Session 1 runs 1 week - June 29-July 3. TURNING IDEAS INTO FILM. Campers in Session One get a comprehensive overview of starting a film from scratch: storyboarding + scriptwriting + an overview of Film History and Technique (learning about theory as well as training on professional film equipment) + putting together a cast and crew + prepping for film shoots. This Session is open to experienced filmmakers AND those with little to no prior film experience.

    Session 2 - Extended Session - runs - July 6-10 & July 13-15. MAKING A MOVIE. Campers in Session Two will learn what it takes to bring their ideas to life: refining scripts and storyboards into shot lists + learning set etiquette + practicing film technique on professional equipment + preparing a shooting schedule + learning about different roles in filmmaking (acting, directing, ADing, set design, props making, producing, wardrobe, etc) + collaborating with a team on a true Film Set .
