Animation August

The Michigan Theaters Community Film Club returns after its summer hiatus with ANIMATION AUGUST! We hope that you have enjoyed some of our summer of Ghibli screenings and that you come out to join us to talk about animation in all its forms!

Are you a fan of the classic nostalgic Disney 2-d and Don Bluth films? Do you prefer stop-motion and experimental styles? Is animation just for children, or does it provide freedom to explore more surreal aspects of the human experience? Let's talk about it all, from Anime films to their western counterparts.

Community Film Club is a ticketed event presented by The Michigan Theater to encourage a regular open community discussion around film and topical movies. The staff of the Michigan Theater will regularly attend the film club meetings to connect with the community over our shared love of film! This will take place monthly on Sundays in the Michigan Theaters Screening Room. This event will offer 2 hours of mingling and connecting with your community, followed by a special screening of a film voted on by club patrons!

PLEASE NOTE: The film club meeting is free to attend, but the post meeting movie will still be a standard ticketed screening. Once you have cast your vote, keep an eye out for when the film club movie goes up and on sale 2 weeks prior to this meeting!
